The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) diverted some of the money raised by the 24 friendlies played by the national team to a company registered in the U.S. in the name of current Barcelona President Sandro Rosell, according to an investigation by Sao Paulo newspaper 'Estadão'. The friendlies were played between 2006 and 2012.
The paper highlighted the relationship between Rosell and the then president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ricardo Teixeira, with whom he had different "trade agreements, especially when the Catalan was director of Nike for Brazil".
At various times since the Brazilian authorities began investigating the case in 2009, Rosell has denied the allegations and the possibility that he may be prosecuted for alleged irregularities in some of his businesses in Brazil.
